Charity Rowing Event

Friday 23 August 2019

During the August bank holiday, our very own Warren Nienaber represented PFA Consulting as part of Swindon Business Cares For Children in aid of the Swindon branch of the NSPCC.

As a crew of eight (including four of the founding members who are now in their sixties and seventies), they rowed the gruelling 124.5 mile journey from Lechlade to London (Teddington) in what turned out to be the hottest August bank holiday weekend on record.  Spending nearly 14 hours in the boat each day (some of them in the dark!), battling the crowded waterways, the heat and extreme fatigue, they finally reached their destination just after sunset on the bank holiday Monday.

For their efforts, the team raised around £14,000 which will go towards enabling the NSPCC to continue their incredible work they already do for Swindon and surrounding communities.
